1 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
Mix together, then add
2 beaten eggs with 1 tsp vanilla mixed in
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups oats
Optional items include: Raisins, chocolate chips, and I also like to add just a dash of cinnamon.
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
**If this looks familiar, it's because I got it from Ree at Pioneer Woman cooks. My husband is very picky about his oatmeal raisin cookies, and this is by far the best recipe he has ever found... right next to "grandma's" cookies you buy at the Walmart checkout for 50 cents each, which he buys by the case... literally.
Now I save him money by keeping this recipe taped to the inside of my kitchen cabinet above my kitchenaid.
